It’s no surprise, my son was CRAZY for Harry Potter, so a Harry Potter Costume was a natural. Added bonus, and quite easy to make. (And also, easy to BUY if you aren’t a seamstress or crafty type). DIY Harry Potter Costume
The most complicated part was the robe. Now, I’m a nutty “sew it yourself” kind of mom, so I found a pattern for the robe, and some inexpensive material in the bin at the back of our fabric store, and got to work. (I did find some cool looking “frogs” to act as fasteners, but a simple button or tie would do the trick.
We supplemented the look with a pair of round wire glasses (kind of like the ones John Lennon wore)
Then drew a lightning bolt on his forehead with some eye-liner (go ahead and use real Halloween make up)
He wore his Sunday slacks and a white shirt, along with a tie (clip on, purchased for a funeral, stuffed in a drawer immediately after)
Of course, no Harry Potter would be complete without the Nimbus 2000 (from the toy box)
This costume is great for Halloween… and he wore it to the Theater for the Harry Potter Movies, AND once to a book store, when the last book was released…
