I’m a child of the classic Star Wars Trilogy. I can still remember sitting in the theater watching those words roll across the screen to the thundering sound of that glorious music. From the first moment, I was HOOKED. Luke was a goofy young hero, Leia was the tough princess I wished I could be, Darth Vader was such a bad guy… and Han Solo… oh my…. I had my first big time movie crush when he came on the screen. (Still freak out a little when I think of him frozen).

These costumes from Rubies are high quality, and should last for many wearings (and a few washings). The masks and wigs are included… but the weapons are not!

One thing that makes the Star Wars Universe so amazing was the richness of Characters. Even the “smaller” characters are interesting and something a kid would WANT to be. Even non-human characters, and characters without “language” speak to us. Even though we can’t understand what R2D2 says… we relate to him, and laugh when he makes noises. We can empathize with C3P0 and his fears.

My son LOVED this set of movies… and for some reason he identified with Darth Maul.So I spent weeks creating the perfect costume. Robe, pants… I created a headpiece and painted it. The final touch, face paint! It took DAYS to get him clean again.

Luckily, you can buy the costume now… with a mask…

(Sadly, the Light Saber is sold separately)

Because the mask is just a mask, it’s probably best to keep the hood pulled up, so the effect isn’t spoiled by your child’s hair.

Anakin Skywalker goes through a huge metamorphosis over the course of the three films... he starts out a small boy who loves to participate in Pod Races and build robots. He and his mother are slaves. When Qui-Gon Gins show up he realizes that Anakin is loaded with Mitichlorians (little thingies in his blood) and should be trained as a Jedi. He and Obi-Wan Kenobi (remember Ben from Episode 4) take him away from Tatooine.

As a “teenager” and then young Man… Anakin falls for Princess Amadala… but is disenchanted with the speed of his training. Like many young men, he’s impatient and impulsive… making him a target for the Dark Side…

Eventually.. it’s gone too far… and Darth Vadar is born.

I swear, the first time I saw the trailer there were tears running down my face.
